U.S. Table Tennis Hall of Fame: Formal Affiliation with USA Table Tennis (USATT)

2009 Contributing Organization Status

In January 2009, the U.S. Table Tennis Hall of Fame (USTTHOF) was officially designated a Contributing Organization Member of USA Table Tennis (USATT). This affiliation was approved unanimously by the USATT Board of Directors in response to a formal request by Hall of Fame President Dick Evans.

This action was taken in accordance with Article V, Section 5.1(b)(3) of the USATT Bylaws:

“Contributing Organization Members are those amateur sports organizations that register as contributing organizations and which conduct athletic programs or activities that further the sport of Table Tennis in the United States or which otherwise support the sport of Table Tennis in the United States.”
— [USATT Bylaws, Article V, Section 5.1(b)(3), Updated September 18, 2024]

USATT further demonstrated its support by waiving the annual membership fee typically required for such organizations. This symbolic and operational partnership emphasized the Hall’s essential role in preserving the sport’s history, honoring contributors, and fostering appreciation for table tennis in the United States.
